Though a driver update will be involved, the hot gossip is that the AMD 7000 Series will indeed support DirectX 11.2. Here’s the scoop: AMD didn’t correctly interpret Microsoft’s DirectX specifications for Windows 8.1 and this lead to the rumor that the GPU series wouldn’t support the DirectX 11.2 API at all. Thankfully, AMD has introduced an update – a driver – which, when used in conjunction with GPUs in the 7000 series, will allow users to benefit from it when updating to Windows 8.1. Bring on that October launch date, Microsoft!
