Standing Next to Clint in His Shop

Stardew Valley offers a highly immersive gameplay experience to its players through the use of its NPCs. In that regard, Clint the Blacksmith might be one of the most significant characters you encounter!

Apart from having the critical job of helping you crack Geodes and upgrade your Tools, Clint has a lot more to his storyline! Ideally, you should be aware of your progression through his lore, but this can quickly become daunting because of its complexity.

No need to worry, though! Today, I’ll be covering everything there is to know about Clint in Stardew Valley

Who is Clint?

Clint is a villager in Stardew Valley who lives in Pelican Town. He works in his shop as a blacksmith, offering services such as cracking Geodes and upgrading your tools. He lives alone, and his shop can be found next to the Museum building in the town area.

The most critical function Clint performs is to help you upgrade your tools. Of course, he offers his services for a fee, and you have to visit him in his shop to avail of them.

Behavior

Clint is a very neutral character. He is neither too fascinated by your arrival to the area nor dismissive of it. He generally minds his own business and keeps to himself.

He can upgrade each of your tools up to the Iridium quality. For this purpose, you must provide him with the bars of the respective ore to which you wish to upgrade your tool and a hefty service fee. Doing so removes the tool from your inventory for a few days while Clint works on upgrading it. Clint will only work on one upgrade at a time.

Additionally, the character can break open the Geodes you collect to reveal the minerals inside. He takes 25g to process each of your Geodes.

On the side of his lore, it becomes very apparent in the later stages of friendship that Clint has a huge crush on Emily. Accordingly, if you befriend Emily too much, he can get jealous and make snarky remarks about you!

Schedule

Clint’s daily routine will change based on several factors, such as the weather conditions, in-game festivals, and your friendship with him. Unlike most other characters, Clint’s schedule remains unaffected by the current season you are in. I’ll give a rundown of his routines below.

Regular Schedule

Following his regular daily routine, Clint starts working behind the counter in his blacksmith shop at 9 am. He stays here till 5 pm before moving on to working on the Anvil. Within this time frame, you can interact with him to use his offered services.

At 7 pm sharp, the character leaves his shop and heads to the Stardrop Saloon. Clint spends the rest of his day here (drinking and supposedly interacting with other villagers). One reason behind this could be that Clint has a crush on Emily, who also happens to work in the Stardrop Saloon!

He returns back to his home at 12 am. This is pretty late, considering that it’s very close to the in-game day limit!

Deviations

There are two primary deviations from the regular schedule mentioned above that Clint can have.

Firstly, the character’s schedule for each Friday changes if you have restored your Community Center building.

In this case, Clint leaves his shop at 9 am and heads over to the Boiler Room within the Community Center. He spends most of his day here and leaves at 5 pm for the Stardrop Saloon. From here on out, he follows the same activities as his regular schedule and returns home at midnight.

Secondly, Clint has alternate schedules for the 15th and 16th of Winter. For the former, he alters his routine to attend the Night Market event happening in the game. In this case, he follows his routine until 5 pm before heading off to the Night Market.

Clint has his annual medical examination scheduled at Harvey’s Clinic for the latter. He leaves his shop around 10:30 am to go to the clinic for this. He can be found in the waiting room of the building till 1:30 pm. After this point, he moves over to the examination room.

Clint’s medical checkup goes on till 4 pm. Once this is over, he heads to the Stardrop Saloon as usual and spends the rest of his day there. He heads back home at 12 am once again.

Heart Events

Heart events are interactions with each character that you can experience after reaching a certain level of friendship with them. In Stardew Valley, Clint has a total of 3 heart events, each with its own set of requirements.

An event becomes available each time you hit the three, six, and seven hearts friendship milestones with the character. You can find more information on Clint’s heart events on the official Stardew Valley Wiki!
